![]() November 26, 2011 A Very Merry Christmas Gown |
Our latest commission was for a
Civil War era/1860s very merry Christmas gown inspired by the White cotton
walking dress with black soutache braid work (c. 1862) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art ![]() The gown is made of emerald green shot silk coupled with a festive holiday plaid taffeta. The bodice buttons down the front with "pearl" buttons and the jacket has an ornate silver clasp. The bodice is fully lined in white muslin and the skirt buttons at the side with a single button.
![]() A
gown that will inspire holiday cheer for sure!
